  • Pop Tab Collection

To support the Ronald McDonald Foundation, every year, Mendon Elementary collects pop tabs. These collected pop tabs are weighed and then exchanged for money to help pay for individuals that are staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Mrs. Coppula, and her math students, collect the tabs and then weigh them. Congratulations to Mrs. Frescura's room for collecting 8 pounds of pop tabs,  way to go!!

Career Awareness Initiative

The Yough School District is kicking off the 2016-17 school year with it's Career Awareness Initiative.  Part of the initiative is to bring awareness to the top Soft Skills employers look for in their employees.  What better way to prepare the future work force by introducing & reinforcing Soft Skills while they're in school?

The Soft Skill for the Month of January: Decision Making

In its simplest sense, decision-making is the act of choosing between two or more courses of action.

In the wider process of problem-solving, decision-making involves choosing between possible solutions to a problem. Decisions can be made through either an intuitive or reasoned process, or a combination of the two.

-Intuition is using your ‘gut feeling’ about possible courses of action.

-Reasoning is using the facts and figures in front of you to make decisions.
